Most of Saturday's work concerned the Niche Clever website migration, particularly a few outstanding DNS problems following the move from 123 Reg to IONOS.
Website hosting and DNS
Continued sorting out the move from 123 Reg to IONOS.
The main website migration was already substantially complete, but a couple of subdomains weren't resolving properly, particularly the Lettings Compliance Checker and the Great Mayonnaise Debate backup.
The Lettings Compliance Checker runs on Render, so I needed to get the new DNS configuration pointing to the existing application without interference from IONOS.
Tracked down a conflict involving the IONOS Click & Build service, which had created A and AAAA records for the subdomain.
Disabled Click & Build, removing those conflicting records. The next issue was the IONOS mail service associated with the subdomain, which also needed disabling before I could configure the Render CNAME properly.
A slightly fiddly bit of hosting administration, but at least the source of the problem was becoming clearer.
The main website was already running on the new hosting arrangement. I still had some follow-up work to do on the subdomains.
Opportunity scanning
The automated Niche Clever opportunity scan ran as usual.
It reviewed several possible positions, including digital transformation and AI-related roles, but didn't produce a new application pack.
The RWA website development expression-of-interest deadline also fell on Saturday. I had no confirmed submission recorded for that deadline.
Where things stand
By the end of Saturday, the website migration was largely complete, although the subdomain configuration still needed some attention.
The source of the DNS problems was becoming clearer, and the opportunity-scanning system continued to run independently.
